Ride 2 Vote on National Election Day
Topeka Metro provides free rides on national election day to help people who may not have transportation so that they can exercise their civic duty to vote.
Topeka Metro is offering free rides for all fixed route passengers and two rides for the day for paratransit passengers. Lift users must schedule their trip in advance. Idle riding passengers (riding more than one complete route without deboarding) is not allowed.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Topeka Metro buses operate from 5:40 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. Please note that bus operators are not responsible to know where your polling location is. Call our customer service at 785-783-7000 for assistance in finding which bus route to take to your voting place. We also recommend that if you are voting later in the day, try to vote by 5:30 p.m. so that you have enough time to vote and get to your return destination before buses stop operating for the day.
