Stuff the Bus brings in over 2,000 pounds of food for Project Topeka

Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered for the “Stuff the Bus” event on February 2, 2019!  Topeka Metro employees were on hand at the Fairlawn Dillons location accepting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to benefit Project Topeka Community Food Drive.  This is an annual Topeka Metro tradition that takes place the first Saturday in February.

This year, Topeka Metro gathered 2,224 pounds, in addition to $146 in cash donations, which brought the total to 243 pounds more, for a GRAND TOTAL of 2,467 pounds donated! That is up over 600 pounds from last year!

Topeka Metro and the Amalgamated Transit Union #1360 would like to thank Dillons at Fairlawn Plaza for allowing us to park in front of the store. The food will go back to Topekans in need in our community.
