What is The Flex?
The Flex is a general public curb-to-curb transit service serving a specific geographical area. Passengers call in advance and schedule a ride to be picked up at any address in the Flex zone.
Who can use Flex service?
Anyone traveling within the designated Flex zone may schedule a ride. The Flex is a shared ride service and vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Passengers must register with Topeka Metro prior to using the Flex service.
How do I register for the Flex?
To register, call Topeka Metro customer service at 785-783-7000, or visit the Quincy Street Station at 820 SE Quincy. You will be required to provide your name, address, and phone number.
How do I schedule or cancel a ride?
To schedule or cancel a Flex ride, call Topeka Metro customer service at 785-783-7000 or visit the Quincy Street Station at 820 SE Quincy between 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. Flex rides must be requested at least three hours prior to the requested trip time, or up to one week in advance. Flex trips are available and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Passengers may be offered an alternate time if their scheduled time is already booked. A standing order may be arranged for passengers who make the same trip on a regular basis for a minimum of one month. Passengers who consistently cancel standing order rides may have their standing order removed.
What days and hours can I travel using the Flex service?
The Flex is available weekdays from 5:45 a.m. (first pick-up) to 6:00 p.m. (final drop-off). The Flex vehicle will connect with the #4 California route at Walmart East at the top of the hour during service hours.
How much does it cost?
The same regular and reduced fares apply to the Flex service as to all other fixed routes.
